Two-day XL Portrait Painting Workshop

Over two inspiring days you’ll create a bold XL portrait on a 100×120 cm canvas. You’ll work from your own photo and build the painting step by step in acrylics: from a strong base drawing to colour, layers and finishing touches.

To get you off to a confident start, we transfer the main contours with an overhead projector. That way you can focus on paint, composition and expression, rather than struggling with proportions.

If you enjoy mixed media, you can add collage elements using painted paper and printed scraps. On day two, you also have the option to seal selected areas with a clear epoxy resin layer for extra depth and a glossy finish (optional).

The workshop is taught by Liliane Konings and runs in a small group, with plenty of personal guidance.

When

Dates are planned once we have at least 4 registrations . This can be a weekday or a Saturday. The workshop runs on two days, each from 10:00–16:00 .

Studio of Liliane Konings, François de Veyestraat 8B, 6221 AB Maastricht. Free parking in front of the building.

Fee

€ 195 for two days. Includes coffee/tea and materials. Please bring your own lunch.

What to bring

Your own portrait photo (or A4 print). Ideally include a small part of the shoulder. Black-and-white is fine, as long as it’s sharp.
Clothes that can get messy (acrylic paint).
Lunch.
Optional: your own papers/prints/cut-outs if you’d like to add collage.
